Education and Me
My education is the number one priority in my life because I know that if I don't have an education, I won't be able to get a good paying job, or even one that I enjoy. Even if I go into music, my education still won't end there, and I'll be learning every day.
As I said before, I'm hoping to go into music therapy for my career. Although it mainly focuses on my music, I also need to take classes in Psychology. My long term education goal is to get at least a 3.5 GPA all throughout high school, and to make it into NHS and get accepted to a good college. The steps I can take to reach that goal would be to always do my best and never settle for less.

My 5-Year Plan
The next 5 years of my life are perhaps the biggest years of my life, and that's why it's important to have a plan ready. For my senior year in high school, my plan is to take as many AP courses as I can to be more prepared for college. I'm also planning on taking some classes more specific to music therapy, like music theory and MAC links. After high school, I plan on going to Western Michigan University for my Bachelors degree in Music Therapy and minor in something to do with business. I plan on getting a job on-campus, and also visiting and interning at hospitals and other places to learn more about music therapy. After college, I plan on getting a job as a music therapist, and also start to work on getting my Masters or Doctorate.
My Career plans
My ideal career is to be a Music Therapist. I would like to go to Western Michigan University, because it is one of the few schools that offers Music Therapy, and has been recommended to me by my music teachers. To be excepted into Music Therapy, I need to be accepted into Western's music school. To get into any music school, you must know a wide variety of repertoire and must audition for a spot. According to WMU's website, about 400 students apply for the music school, while only about 90 actually make it in. In order to be accepted into music school I must practice extensively and learn the required repertoire, which will be challenging but rewarding. Once I make it into the music school, I will have many courses in music and psychology. I will need to keep my practicing up while also focusing on my academic classes, which will be a lot of work. After graduating with a Bachelors degree with Music Therapy, I will find a job in a hospital or somewhere else where I can provide my services. My main goal is to someday open my own practice, which I will need my Masters or Doctorate for. I am hoping that the hospital I work for would pay for my grad school.
