My achievements
Throughout my high school, I have made many achievements and continue to do so. Here are some of the things I've done so far.
honor roll
Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years I made it on to the school's honor roll. I have an overall 3.9 GPA and Sophomore year got my letter for academics. I hope to keep this throughout my high school career.
Varsity swim
My Sophomore year I joined the Varsity Swim Team. Although it was hard at first, I'm glad I joined and am excited for next season.
jv tennis
In addition to swim, I also joined the JV Tennis team my sophomore year. I had played tennis when I was younger, so it wasn't too hard to get back into the swing of things. I had a lot of fun with it, but because of my busy schedule I decided to stick with only swim.
solo and ensemble
Both freshman and sophomore year I did solo and ensemble for cello. Freshman year I played Sicilienne by Fauré and earned a Division 1 rank, which is the best rank. Sophomore year I played Vocalise by Rachmaninoff and earned a Division 2 rank. I plan on doing Solo and Ensemble again next year, and hopefully making it to State level.
dixie classic festival
Freshman year the school orchestra took a trip to Chicago for the Dixie Classic Festival. We were one of seven schools there, and we were the only orchestra, but we still won first place overall! I had a lot of fun there and hope to get more opportunities like that.
state orchestra festivals
Both freshman and sophomore year the school orchestra went to district and state festival. Both years we got division one at district level and division two at state level. I'm really glad we got the chance to go to festivals and hope we go to more in the future.
cello ensemble
Outside of school I am involved in a cello ensemble with my private teacher. Currently we are playing the Bachianas Brasileiras, which includes a solo soprano. I'm really glad I have the opportunity to be in this group and hope to continue with it.
Michigan youth symphony orchestra
My junior year I was accepted into the University of Michigan Youth Symphony Orchestra, which is very well known and plays difficult repertoire. Being with a higher-level orchestra is a lot of fun, and I'm really glad I was accepted into it.
National Honors Society
My junior year I was accepted into the National Honors Society. To be chosen for NHS, you must have at least a 3.75 GPA, and be involved in community service and have leadership positions. I am honored to have been chosen to be a part of NHS.
